Many local group leaders have asked for a determination letter regarding Indivisible's non-profit status. In particular, some meeting spaces or other vendors may ask for this information, or may provide non-profit organizations with discounts.
You can download the IRS determination letter for Indivisible project after answering the questions below. (Please remember that the Indivisible Project is a 501(c)(4) organization, so contributions to it are not tax deductible, and that local groups are not legal agents of the Indivisible Project and are not authorized to open bank accounts or incur liabilities on its behalf.) If you are sharing the letter with a third party we recommend describing it as follows:
"You asked for our letter of non-profit status. Indivisible Abcville [replace with the name of your local group] is a volunteer group organized in connection to the Indivisible Project, a 501(c)(4) organization. Here is a copy of Indivisible's letter of nonprofit status."
